New York City. The florist’s door. The moment she stepped inside from the street, everything shifted — the noise dropped, the temperature fell, and the scent arrived all at once: cool water, freshly cut stems, living earth from potted plants, and the heady sweetness of blooms packed floor to ceiling. Extraordinary, every single time.

As a young girl in grade school, the neighborhood florist was a place of pure magic. She and her friends would pool their money to buy each other corsages — always carnations — tied with pipe cleaners and a small piece of candy. Hers was always a watermelon Jolly Rancher, bright and sweet, tucked inside. It was silly and perfect and entirely their own ritual, born on city sidewalks and carried out in a cold, flower-drenched room that felt like another world entirely.

FLEURISTE was created to hold that memory: the contrast of the city and the coolness of the shop, the sweetness of candy against the green snap of fresh stems, and the way something so simple — a carnation, a pipe cleaner, a friend — could feel like everything.
